Extensive lighting, minimal columns and wide car parking spaces give increased visibility and even the trees and shrubs are subject to intense scrutiny to ensure good external sight lines.

Through a unique partnership with Kent Police and Bluewater Management, Bluewater funds all the police officers who work at Bluewater in order to support the local community. They patrol Bluewater's internal and external areas regularly during operational hours and have the ability to apprehend suspects and detain them in a custody suite at the police station on site.
