On 21st April, Bluewater hosted a tree-planting ceremony and time capsule burial. Business and community stakeholders attended the event and the winner of a press competition was awarded the honour of burying the time capsule.
Items placed in the time capsule included:An account of life at Bluewater in 2009 written by the winner of a Bluewater staff competition.Relevant local and national newspaper articles printed on 16 March 2009.A Bluewater store directory.Five non-perishable items from key retailers.Two personal letters written by original staff members.
