BLUEWATER APPRENTICESHIP SCHEME

Launched in 2009, the Bluewater Apprenticeship Scheme has been a huge success with apprentices completing their qualifications and gaining employment.

In 2012 the scheme was expanded so employers would receive a subsidy and employ apprentices directly. They gain the skills and work experience needed for a career in retail and benefit from retail employment, classroom and work-based training to achieve Retail Skills QCF and Retail Knowledge, the technical certificate of the apprenticeship.

The apprenticeship offers an insight into every aspect of running a successful retail business and with lots of entrepreneurs starting out as apprentices, you could soon be on the road to retail riches….

And as testament to the success of The Learning Shop, the Rt Hon Iain Duncan Smith MP, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions has said: “The Learning Shop at Bluewater is a great example of the private and public sector working together to deliver significant and long-lasting benefits to a region. It has successfully worked with tens of thousands of people, training and motivating them and crucially getting them into jobs.

I congratulate them on the work they’re doing.”
