Summer fun for families

Swish, splash and squelch your way through a fun-filled adventure inspired by the beloved children’s classic We’re Going on a Bear Hunt. Next summer, eighty-six giant bear sculptures will take over Dartford as the story is brought to life in a spectacular public art trail.

Featuring 80 uniquely designed sculptures – including 31 Big Bears and 49 Cubs – the trail celebrates creativity and community while raising vital funds for specialist hospice care. Bluewater will host around 10 large bears, additional cubs and a dedicated hub sharing the stories behind the project.

Led by hospice charity ellenor in partnership with Dartford Borough Council, and supported by Bluewater, the trail will transform the town into a vibrant free outdoor gallery for families to explore. 

Plus, watch creativity come to life as artists transform giant bear sculptures inside a special pop-up studio, complete with playful peep holes so visitors can sneak a behind-the-scenes glimpse. Once the trail launches, the space will become a vibrant Bear Hunt Hub, offering themed merchandise, hands-on craft activities and a fun place for families to continue the adventure.
